Why I 'came home' (with a message to Mr Galloway)

If you were to ask me to join the labour party a few months ago I probably would have laughed and spouted a well used militant slogan at you. Things have changed. We have a general election upon us. The most important since 1997. My plans for the election's was door stepping for the Respect party. I had been a member of it for over a year. I did enjoy if for a while. But gradually a nagging feeling of alienation crept up to me...

I honestly cannot tell you why I felt that but I did. Maybe I'm sick of hanging out with extreme left wingers who stand at pathetic looking stalls shouting tired old slogan's through a megaphone to passers by. Maybe I'm sick of being in a tiny irrelevant party which doesn't stand up for MY needs. Maybe I'm sick of a manifesto which wouldn't look out of place in a communist party. Maybe I'm sick of not being listened to...

Week after week on his Radio show Respect leader George Galloway would insult deride and basically drag down Gordon Brown. And week after week I'd see Gordon smashing David Cameron to piece's at PMQ's. Something wasn't right. George Galloway wasn't right. This man who I admired greatly( and to a degree still do) who loves to stick up for the rights of Muslims but is to scared to reveal his own Muslim faith. This man who has never been in government, Never held a ministerial post would tear down everything Labour did because it wasn't 'left wing' enough. Well 'Gorgeous' I'm sick of your lecturing. I can see with my own eyes that Gordon has saved this economy. Yes he has made mistakes in the past. Yes he has done things that I don't agree with. But as a prime minister I am proud of him. I'm proud that he has inspired thousands of Twitter users to mobilize and get behind him. THAT Mr Galloway is what you call a Labour Movement and I want to be part of it. I want to be in the Party that created the NHS. I want to be in Clement Attlee's party. Michael Foot's Party. Nye Bevan's Party. Gordon Browns party!
